'Lincoln' leads this year's Oscar nominations with a dozen nominations. In the technical categories, 'The Adventures of Pi' and 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' dominate the nominations.

Oscar nominations 2013

The Hollywood Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 2013 Oscars. The ceremony will take place on February 24 in Los Angeles.

Leads the nominations Lincoln, by Steven Spielberg, with a dozen nominations, including best film, best direction and best actor (Daniel Day-Lewis). follows her The Adventures of Pi, by Ang Lee, with 11 nominations.

The Asian director's film is also one of the most outstanding productions in the technical categories, competing for best photography, best editing, best art direction, best sound, best mixing and best special effects. In this last category you will have strong competition with The Hobbit: an unexpected journey.
