Nagra will allow Telecable in Mexico to offer multiscreen services with linear TV, start-over and catch-up PVR
Nagra MediaLive will offer the Mexican cable operator conditional access with Nagra MediaAccess and a DRM and OpenTV 5 HTML5 ConnectWare environment, as well as the MediaLive services platform.
Telecable has opted for the end-to-end multi-screen solution of Nagra to deploy next-generation mix of broadcast and advanced services such as start-over and catch-up PVR.
Nagra MediaLive will offer conditional access with Nagra MediaAccess and a DRM environment and OpenTV 5 HTML5 ConnectWare, as well as the MediaLive services platform.
Luis Vielma, Director of Operations at Telecable, has been very happy to be "the first media company to launch such a complete multi-screen offer to viewers in Mexico. By partnering with Nagra, we are sure of being able to provide the best distribution and protection of OTT content available, and to combine a flexible and modular solution like OpenTV 5 in a unique, perfect and interactive user experience on all screens, which will allow us to grow, innovate and offer new services on our platform."
For his part, Tom Wirth, Nagra Senior Vice President of Sales for the Americas, maintains that "Telecable is setting a new benchmark for pay TV services in Mexico, laying the foundation for the new connected home experience. By choosing our tightly integrated suite of MediaLive solutions with OpenTV 5, they will have a reliable, proven and complete middleware framework at their disposal with the support of a single, highly experienced provider that allows them to solve problems derived from fragmented solutions."
