Televisa will use an interactive touch table to analyze the World Cup
Thanks to Alternative Reality technology, the Mexican broadcaster will have an interactive touch table on which players will appear as holograms.
Televisa will use the developments of Vizrt Viz Libero, Viz Virtual Studio and Viz Engine for the analysis of the World Cup matches in Brazil.
Thanks to Alternative Reality technology, the Mexican broadcaster has already tested an interactive touch table during the broadcast of the friendly match between Mexico and Nigeria, on March 5. This touch table allowed presenters to analyze plays and discuss team and match strategy, in real time. The effect for the spectators was better analysis and a better understanding of the match and the techniques of both teams.
Some of the unique features of the touch table include multi-touch functionality that allows with a touch of the finger to obtain the image of a player as a life-size hologram with their game statistics.
The touch table uses Vizrt Viz Virtual Studio technology for virtual players and Viz Engine, the real-time compositing engine, for compositing graphics on the touch screen. This same virtual technology is also increasingly used by broadcasters around the world to create complex 2D and 3D virtual sets. Viz Engine development is also being used by numerous chains to have large interactive touch screens.
Already last summer, Televisa successfully used the virtual presenter technology developed by Vizrt for the first time during coverage of the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
Virtual Presenter is a unique tool that consists of two software products from Vizrt: Viz Libero and Viz Engine.
