Dolby certifies Clipster for Atmos

Official Clipster certification now allows post-production studios to deliver DCPs with immersive Dolby Atmos sound

Rohde & Schwarz DVS has launched the beta version of Clipster whose main novelty is the official certification for Dolby Atmos that will now allow post-production studios to carry out DCPs with the immersive sound of Dolby, easily fitting into existing workflows and significantly improving efficiency.

Dolby Atmos gives sound experts creative freedom to easily place sound anywhere in the theater using object-based audio technology. Instead of thinking about speakers or channels, sound mixers simply have to label each sound-object with precise instructions of where it should appear or move. The unique configuration of each venue is taken into account, ensuring a consistent, quality audio experience in all movie theaters, regardless of their size and shape. Thanks to a smart decoder, the sound objects are distributed to the room's speakers on the walls, screen and ceiling.

Con Clipster, Rohde & Schwarz DVS ha sido pionera en el procesamiento de datos 4K en tiempo real desde el año 2007. Esta solución permite generar DCPs en tiempo real sin importar si el material está en 2D, 3D, 4K o HFR. Mediante el uso del hardware propio de codificación JPEG2000 de Rohde & Schwarz DVS, Clipster permite trabajar con hasta 96 frame por segundo, cuatro veces más rápido que el tiempo real (3D HFR en tiempo real) de la mejor calidad de imagen. Con Clipster, las respectivas mezclas Dolby Atmos se pueden integrar en el proceso de masterización DCI para DCP.
