A total of 35 short films have been selected to compete in the 29th edition of the Goya Awards, which on February 8, 2015 will recognize the best short-term works in animation, documentary and fiction.

Goya Awards

The Board of Directors of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain has been in charge of selecting ten titles for animation, another ten in the documentary section, and fifteen in the fiction category that will compete in the next edition of the Goya. These short films will be able to be voted on in the coming weeks by all the academics to decide which ones will finally be eligible for the awards.

The animation pieces eligible for the Goya Award are A Lifestory, by Nacho Rodríguez; A Lonely Sun Story, by Enrique Fernández Guzmán and Juanma Suárez García; Blocked stacked, directed by Anna Solanas Santacana and Marc Riba Roqué; Sportsmen, by Ana Rodríguez, Iván Ramírez and Juan Carlos Arniz; The Lord of the Endless Coat, of Victory Sahores Ripoll; Foamy, of Eduard Ports Anfruns; Juan and the cloud, by Giovanni Maccelli; The stain, by Javier Abad Moreno; Planet Ripos (El casting), by Manuel J. García Pozo; and unicorn blood, by Alberto Vázquez.

In the documentary section there are 366 days, by Leopoldo Pomés Leiz; The fish tamer, by Dani Resines and Roger Gómez; The last hug, by Sergi Pitarch Garrido; The Cave of the Sky, signed by Álex Lora Cercos and Antonio Tibaldi; The Russian machine, by Octavio Guerra Quevedo; Why Arturo Soria?, by Antonio Peláez Barceló; To be and return, by Xacio Baño; Summer 2013, by Eduardo Cardoso; Walls (If these walls could talk), by Miguel López Beraza; and Zela Trovke-Cutting grass, de Asier Altuna Iza.

Finally, those shortlisted in the fiction category are Absolutely personal, by Julián Merino Díaz; Not now, by Elia Ballesteros and Kate Campbell; coffee to go, by Patricia Font; Citizen Torralba Redux, by Suso Hernández; Foley Artist, by Toni Bestard; The glen of the English, by Victor Matellano; Madman with crossbow, de Kepa Sojo; Meeting with Sarah Jessica, by Vicente Villanueva Ribes; Pitahaya, by Albert Espinosa; Pulse, by Álvaro Giménez Sarmiento; Safari, by Gerardo Herrero Pereda; Unanswered, by Miguel Parra; Sincerity, by Andrea Casaseca; A whole future together, by Pablo Remón; and preferential treatment, by Carlos Polo.
