TVE begins filming 'Closed Rooms', co-produced by Diagonal Tv

Adapted from the bestseller of the same name by Care Santos, this melodrama is directed by Lluis María Güell and will be recorded in natural settings and in different locations in Barcelona and surrounding areas.

This week filming began Closed rooms, a two-part period miniseries adapted from the novel of the same name by Care Santos. A melodrama directed by Lluis María Güell and set in two eras, the present day and the first decades of the 20th century. Adriana Ugarte and Álex García lead the cast of this co-production by TVE, Diagonal TV and TV3.

The history and secrets of the Lax, a powerful bourgeois family, are the common thread of this miniseries that will be filmed until the end of the year in natural settings and in different locations in Barcelona and its surroundings.

Every family has a secret and that of the Lax family, one of the most distinguished sagas of Barcelona at the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th, could not be any less.

Violeta Lax (Bea Segura) returns to Spain to supervise the works that will convert the old family mansion into a museum dedicated to her grandfather, Amadeo Lax (Alex García), a famous portrait painter. But the appearance of a mummified body in a secret room will lead Violeta to discover her family's dark past.

Hidden enigmas that he will not always be able to piece together but that will help him get to know Teresa Brusés (Adriana Ugarte), his grandmother, more closely and, above all, to decipher the most hidden and unknown face of his revered grandfather. In the Lax house a long time ago a pact of silence was imposed: Amadeo demanded that no member of his family ever remember the name or fate of the wife who abandoned him just at the moment the Civil War broke out.

Through subtle transitions between the present and the past, the viewer will witness Violeta's investigations and, at the same time, the development of the events that took place within the walls of the Lax mansion, from the moment its former inhabitants first crossed the threshold of the mansion.

Lluís Maria Güell directs Closed rooms, a miniseries scripted by Pere Riera that has a luxury cast headed by Adriana Ugarte ('The Lady', 'The Time Between Seams') who will play Teresa Bruses. Along with her, Álex García (Amadeo Lax), Bea Segura (Violeta), Ramón Madaula (Modesto Lax), Jan Cornet (Octavio), Francesc Orella (Rodolfo Lax), Diana Gómez (Concha), Toni Sevilla (Soler), Laia Costa (Montserrat Espelleta), Raúl Peña (Juan Lax), Marc Cartes (Ricardo Selvas), Rosa Boladeras (Rosa) and Miriam Iscla (Antonia).
