Spanish Television and Digaonal TV have started filming their new historical fiction bet: Charles, King Emperor. A careful production starring Álvaro Cervantes and Blanca Suárez that will tell the story of one of the most powerful men Europe has ever known, governor of an empire of proportions as extraordinary as its diversity.

The first sequences shot take place in Tordesillas, where a young Carlos goes, accompanied by his sister Leonor, to see his mother Juana, imprisoned there.

Charles, King Emperor It is directed by Oriol Ferrer, one of the directors of 'Isabel', and will have Salvador García and Jorge Torregrosa as chapter directors. Its scriptwriter is José Luis Martín, script coordinator of the second and third seasons of the fiction about the Catholic Monarchs. Heading the Art direction, Josep Rosell, and David Azcano as Director of Photography. Pepe Reyes returns to lead the locker room team.

Shot in the same studios Isabel, with two sets totaling more than 3,000 m², the sets reflect a new era: Western Europe at the beginning of the 16th century, where the Renaissance acts as a bridge to the Modern Age. The spaces are now brighter and more colorful. The medieval heaviness will give way to new architectural elements, slimmer columns and new decorative styles of Italian influence.

Pepe Reyes returns to lead the costume team with the challenge of capturing Renaissance ostentation in his clothing. The color palette of one of the most fascinating costumes in History will play an important role that will help the narrative, drama and evolution of the almost one hundred very different main characters that will go through the series.
