Robert Pratten will teach a Master in Transmedia at the Centa School
In February 2015 CENTA begins a Master in Transmedia that will include other professionals of the stature of Paco Rodríguez, Belén Santa Olalla, Nicolás Alcalá or Maya Zuckerman.
The CENTA School has invited the founder of Transmedia Storyteller, Robert Pratten, to the Basque Country for the first time to teach a Master in Transmedia in Bilbao.
Robert's experience uniquely places him at the intersection of entertainment, marketing and technology as he has over 20 years of experience working with clients such as Ericsson and Telcordia.
In 2000, he left his job as a consultant to attend the London Film School and has since written, produced and directed two award-winning and critically acclaimed feature films: London Voodoo (2004) and MindFlesh (2008). He also produced the prototype transmedia project for Conducttr, Lowlifes.
He is currently an internationally recognized leader in transmedia storytelling and speaks regularly at numerous conferences, including the World Innovation Conference, SXSW Interactive, and Meetup.
“But what is transmedia?” more than one will ask. Transmedia production is a new genre that allows the creation of more complete and complex narrative universes, made up of different stories and arguments of the same plot distributed on multiple platforms.
The way we consume media is evolving since the appearance of the internet, mobile platforms and social networks, and transmedia strategies are successfully applied today, both for marketing campaigns and independent projects.
Recent examples of transmedia projects in Spain are The Cosmonaut, Panzer Chocolate, the release of the fourth season of Jgame of thrones on Canal + España… International examples of the success of transmedia campaigns are The Happiness Factory (made Coca Cola earn 4% more in 2013), The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (web series on Kickstarter)… among others.
Given this reality, the Master in Transmedia is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge to create, produce, finance and distribute a project through multiple channels.
With a methodology based on practice from the beginning, the final objective of the course is that there are four transmedia projects prepared to launch on the market that will be presented in a final Pitching to national and international companies.
The Master is taught by both national and international teachers. All of them are active professionals and in addition to teaching the most theoretical concepts, they will guide and advise you in the most practical parts and implementation of the projects. It is worth highlighting Paco Rodríguez, Belén Santa Olalla, Nicolás Alcalá and Maya Zuckerman, who are internationally recognized.
This master's degree is supported by the Audiovisual Cluster of the Basque Country, Eiken and several companies and events that support the initiative such as Media Attack, Delirium Studios, Ubiqa, Asociación Inspira and TransmediaZ.
