Central China Television (CCTV) uses Orad immersive graphics for 2015 Spring Festival gala
The Chinese broadcaster opts for the RealSet platform powered by the HDVG+ video rendering platform.
CCTV has opted for RealSet immersive graphics solution from Run powered by the HDVG+ video rendering platform for its Spring Festival 2015 gala, a broadcast that attracts more than 700 million viewers.
Three cameras for augmented reality, a VR pan and tilt head system, a robotic dolly system mounted on rails and a VR crane system have been used in the virtual system. Due to the large scale of this project, CCTV insisted on having complete redundancy in the HDVGs, cables and tracking, which operated simultaneously in the main and backup systems.
Thanks to the performance of the HDVG+ hardware, immersive augmented reality elements were implemented with Orad's RealSet and used to enhance the festive atmosphere of the gala with incredible stage effects. A large number of graphic elements were rendered, precisely with the music, using Orad's HDVG platform, resulting in attractive virtual scenes designed by CCTV Digital. Yangyang, the gala's first mascot in 33 years, was created by PMVG, Orad's local partner in China and 7D-vision. The pet interacted with the rest as a virtual host.
