Palm trees in the snow, the film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Luz Gabás, directed by Fernando González Molina and starring Mario Casas and Adriana Ugarte, hits theaters this Christmas.

Its producers, Warner Bros, Nostromo Pictures and Atresmedia Cine have opted for Best Digital studios equipped with the latest technology with Dolby Atmos immersive sound.

In the Spanish film with the highest budget in recent years in Spanish, more than half a thousand shots with digital effects have been used.

Albert Manera has been in charge of the audio mixing, with José A. Manovel in the recording and Manuel Carrión in charge of the foley effects.

The main theme of the film was composed by Pablo Alborán and Lucas Vidal, with Nate Underkuffler supervising the musical editing.

Palm Trees in the Snow is up for five nominations in the next edition of the Goya Awards: production direction, artistic direction, costume design, and makeup and hairdressing.

A trip to colonial Guinea

The film places its action on the one hand in the period of transition from the colonies to overseas provinces until definitive independence, and on the other in the present, in Bioko, a territory wounded after years of instability, dictatorships, disappearances, torture, and lack of freedoms. It is a story as epic as it is intimate that builds bridges between two times, two cultures and two generations.
