Axon will announce at NAB 2016 the latest updates for its Cerebrum control and monitoring solution as well as new infrastructure solutions for 4K and Ethernet.

At NAB, Axon will unveil new features, including automatic tie-line management across multiple matrices for format conversion operations from multiple locations, as well as new third-party interface options, including support for SAM, Imagine, ClearCom, Trilogy and Grass Valley protocols.

Axon will also present the latest use cases, including eTV in South Africa, Shanghai Media Center China and 4K coverage of the UEFA Champions League, where Cerebrum is significantly reducing workloads.

Hybrid SDI-Ethernet solutions

As the broadcast industry begins its transition to IP-based workflows, Axon is betting on video and audio over Ethernet, including SMPTE S2022-6. The Axon team will be in Las Vegas to provide guidance in the complex IP world, and showcase the latest standards and hybrid SDI-Ethernet solutions.

Axon will also showcase the latest line of Synapse signal processing products and demonstrate how its solutions are shaping the future of 4K production. The range now includes up/down conversion and tool boxes with support for VANC and Hanc data, timecode and embedded audio, as well as Dolby E encoding and decoding. This Axon solution has played a key role in the first Ultra High Definition sports broadcasts on BT Sport.
