RTVE will provide extensive coverage of the XVII Mediterranean Games in Tarragona

The Corporation and the Tarragona 2017 Foundation, organizer of the event, sign a collaboration agreement for the dissemination of this sports competition that will take place from June 30 to July 9, 2017.

Radiotelevisión Española y los Juegos del Mediterráneo refuerzan su compromiso para la emisión y promoción de la XVII edición de esta competición de carácter polideportivo que se organiza en el marco del movimiento olímpico. RTVE y la Fundación Tarragona 2017 han firmado este lunes un acuerdo de colaboración.

Han suscrito el convenio el presidente de RTVE, José Antonio Sánchez; el alcalde de Tarragona, Josep Fèlix Ballesteros, en su condición de presidente de la Fundación Tarragona 2017; y Alejandro Blanco Bravo, vicepresidente de la Fundación y presidente del Comité Olímpico Español (COE).

José Antonio Sánchez ha señalado que “como institución pública, agradecemos esta oportunidad, como cualquier evento que tenga relación con la Marca España. Para RTVE es motivo de satisfacción hacer llegar a los españoles estos Juegos, y ser portavoz, una vez más, de los deportes minoritarios”.

Para Josep Fèlix Ballesteros “es un orgullo que los principales actos deportivos sean retransmitidos por RTVE, que garantiza estabilidad, experiencia y profesionalidad en estos eventos”.

With this signing, RTVE undertakes to provide extensive coverage to the development of the Mediterranean Games through its television and radio channels, and RTVE.es. The agreement, which will be valid until December 31, 2017, also includes the possibility of broadcasting live the opening and closing galas of the Games, which will have more than 150,000 spectators.

The Mediterranean Games will be held from June 30 to July 9, 2017 in the city of Tarragona and 15 other municipalities. During the 10 days of competition, a total of 34 sports disciplines will be held in which some 4,000 athletes of 25 nationalities will participate.
