RTVE Tarragona will unify the RNE and TVE headquarters in La Tabacalera

The Tarragona City Council has approved in full the transfer to RTVE for 20 years of a space on the La Tabacalera municipal property to establish the headquarters of the RTVE Information Unit in Tarragona.

Concretely, RTVE will occupy a location 265,65 m² located in the third floor of Warehouse 2 of the municipal building The Tobacco Company, where they will be installed and will unify the headquarters of RNE and TVE in Tarragona. The agreement has gone through all the technical filters necessary for the correct development of an initiative of this type, as well as the Industrial Engineering Report, the file of the Fiscal Technical Office and compliance with the Urban Planning Standards.

The director of RTVE Catalonia, Steve Crespo, has clarified that “this agreement (…) will allow joint work from the same center of the two media, but also make a clear commitment to technological renewal and the new technologies que se introducirán en el centro. A la vez, también nos dará una proyección más importante de todo aquello que, por un lado, se haga y pase en Tarragona, pero también de nuestra presencia allí, al tener conexión conjunta, más decidida y una apuesta más clara en este caso por Tarragona y por la proyección de RTVE Cataluña”.

El acuerdo con el Ayuntamiento de Tarragona permitirá el uso a RTVE mediante una adjudicación directa durante un periodo de 20 años y con una retribución anual de 25.307 euros. En los próximos meses, RTVE presentará el proyecto técnico de las obras e instalaciones of La Tabacalera and 3% of the value of the public domain and the budget of the works, essential requirements of the agreement.
