Ericsson to collaborate with NBC Olympics on Rio 2016 coverage
Ericsson's high-performance HD solutions will enable millions of American viewers to enjoy the Games as they air on NBC Olympics.
NBC Olympics has selected Ericsson to provide video and distribution solutions for its production of the XXXI Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, August 5-21. This was announced by David Mazza, vice president of Engineering at NBC Olympics, and Elisabetta Romano, vice president and director of TV and Media at Ericsson.
Ericsson will provide a range of advanced modular receivers and video processing solutions that will support NBC Olympics, delivering high-quality, high-fidelity broadcasts to millions of viewers. Ericsson's expert engineers will provide 24-hour on-site support and assist in the installation of equipment and systems.

Ericsson's encoding solutions were recently applied by NBC Olympics for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, and prior to that supported the network's production during the 2012 London Games, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, the 2008 Beijing Games and the 2006 Winter Games in Turin.
