The filming of 'The Chess Player' moves to the Canary Islands
Su director, Luis Oliveros, rodará en varias localizaciones del archipiélago canario como Santa María de Guía, Tafira, Las Palmas y Arucas.
Ha comenzado en Canarias el rodaje de la película The chess player, dirigida por Luis Oliveros (The angel of Budapest). Una historia de amor y supervivencia ambientada durante la invasión nazi de Francia en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, protagonizada por Marc Clotet (The sleeping voice) y Melina Matthews (The prince). Les acompañan en el reparto: Alejo Sauras, Mike Hoffman y Andrés Gertrudix, entre otros.
The chess player contará con varias localizaciones del archipiélago canario como son Santa María de guia, Tafira, Las Palmas y Arucas.
La película está basada en la novela de Julio Castedo, que también escribe el guión, es una producción de Ishtar Films, Tornasol Films y Hernández y Fernández PC, que cuenta con la colaboración de Film Team y la participación de TVE y Telemadrid.
Synopsis
In 1934 Diego Padilla wins the Spanish chess championship and meets a French journalist, Marianne Latour, with whom he falls in love. Marianne convinces Diego to go live with their daughter in France, where shortly afterwards Diego will be accused of being a spy by the Nazis and locked up in an SS prison.
In prison, Diego will try to survive in a hostile environment thanks to the chess hobby of Colonel Maier, the commanding officer, a bitter man, wounded by war, hedonistic and unpredictable.
