Charlie Horrell takes over from Tom Blake as CEO of Imagen

Blake will now assume the commercial direction of the British Software-as-a-Service solutions company for video management.

Image has appointed Charlie Horrell as its new CEO, a measure that strengthens its management team and with which it intends to grow in new markets.

Until now CEO Tom Blake will step down after six years at the helm of the company. From now on, he will assume commercial management, providing strategic guidance for the company and working closely with key clients.

With a career that has focused on leading businesses in the digital, technology and media space, Charlie Horrell will bring significant leadership and commercial experience. As managing director of Diligent, the company achieved significant growth in five years and was acquired for $625 million.

Horrell said: "The company is in great shape and enjoys a great reputation across sports and media. I am joining at a very exciting point in the company's evolution – I am looking forward to bringing this great solution to a wider market at a time when many companies are struggling to optimize their video management operations and value their assets. Image is the essential service to help them improve their commercial communications."

Tom Blake acknowledges that "after six very enjoyable years in the role I am delighted to hand over the reins to Charlie. His track record of conducting business speaks for itself. In addition, his extensive commercial experience will help us gain traction in new markets and refine our operations. We are confident that Charlie will make an important contribution as we continue on our growth path."

Currently we can find Imagen solutions to monetize and distribute content in sports and media companies, including the English Premier League, ATP Media, Endemol, BP, the British Film Institute and IMG.
