Ovide reformulates its Smart Assist and presents them at IBC 2017
The new EVO generation of Ovide Smart Assist is made up of two types of systems: Ovide Smart Assist 2 EVO, to connect up to 2 cameras and Ovide Smart Assist 4 EVO, to connect up to 4 cameras (or one 4K camera).
For some years now, Ovid exhibits at the most important professional film fairs presenting its video assistance equipment.
This year, at IBC 2017, they launch their new generation Ovide Smart Assist EVO. The new EVO devices retain the essence with which they designed their first Ovide Smart Assist: an “all-in-one” hardware designed according to the needs of QTake. The reason for the existence of Ovide Smart Assist equipment has always been to facilitate the video assist's work, that is, thanks to its electronics (designed by Ovide) no computer towers, capture cards, monitors, converters... not even a mouse or keyboard are needed.
In addition, it is a compact and portable unit, inside your suitcase, the equipment can be checked in like any airplane luggage.
The EVO generation is made up of two types of systems: Ovide Smart Assist 2 EVO, to connect up to 2 cameras and Ovide Smart Assist 4 EVO, to connect up to 4 cameras (or one 4K camera).
The EVO generation has, among other improvements, a 4K DCI-P3 touch screen, much more powerful CPU and GPU, lower output delay and up to six outputs (Smart Assist 2 EVO). For its part, the new Ovide proposal retains the previous generation that has achieved so much popularity thanks to its manufacturing with resistant and high-quality materials, cheeseplates and handles (cheeseplate format) that allow you to attach accessories such as mini monitors or video transmitters, AC power, floor batteries and camera batteries, Hot swap between power supplies in addition to an extra 2-minute UPS, removable SSD, 22" capacitive touch screen, SMA connectors for WiFi and Bluetooth antennas. As extras Ovide offers
cheseplates, handles, parasol, reading lamp…
QTake video assistance software is practically the standard in the video assistance industry thanks to its intuitive use and its wide variety of functions, including RAW file processing, color grading, camera and lens metadata transmission, VR-360º viewing without the need for special glasses, sending independent video signals to iPads and iPhones and live work with 3D and CGI scenarios.
Although it is a very easy-to-use software, its possibilities are so broad that In2core (creators of QTake) have designed an official certification program to accredit those video assists with an expert level and mastery. These certifications are not learning courses, but rather a full-day exam that attempts to verify the knowledge of QTake operators.
