Multi-viewing and monitoring platform passes all certification tests for Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby E
The software-based platform for multi-viewing and content monitoring, Prismon by Rohde & Schwarz, has passed all certification tests Dolby Laboratories.
Prismon allows broadcasters and streaming service providers to monitor a wide variety of media formats with resolutions up to UHD 4K. Dolby has now extensively tested the capabilities of this solution to decode the Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby E codecs. In doing so, it has certified that Prismon supports all audio channel configurations defined up to 7.1, web browser user interface, input via ASI and SDI transport streaming, and Dolby metadata display.
Dolby E is a digital audio encoding and decoding technology used by broadcasters and post-production companies to transfer and store audio material. For its part, Dolby Digital Plus is a multichannel audio system that was designed specifically for high definition television (HDTV), HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc, and for the encoding of multichannel media for streaming, on demand and download services.
