The online platform has opened the call for the fifth edition of Pitchbox, its main pitching event focused on fiction feature films in development, which will take place on May 22 in Madrid.

Among all the candidate projects, seven will be selected to present to the most important producers and companies in the Spanish audiovisual sector. The event already has the confirmed participation of Atresmedia Cine, RTVE and Telecinco Cinema.

From today until April 20, interested feature film projects will be able to register as candidates through the Filmarket Hub online market. On April 27, those selected and the ten special mentions will be announced. Maintaining the successful format of previous Pitchbox events, the seven selected projects will have seven minutes to make a sales pitch with visual support for the invited companies. Once the pitching session is over, a networking with appetizers will take place where projects and companies can share impressions and contacts.

Filmarket Hub is an online marketplace that connects film and television projects in development with companies in the audiovisual sector: production companies, television stations, OTT platforms, international sales agencies and distributors. This is an initiative that was born with the objective of giving visibility to the best emerging talent and promoting agreements to produce new projects at an international level. It currently has more than 12,000 users from all over Europe and Latin America.

The platform also organizes pitching events under the Pitchbox brand. The last of them was TV Pitchbox, where seven series projects were presented to companies such as Amazon Prime Video Spain or HBO Spain.

Last October, the third edition of Sitges Pitchbox also took place, focused on genre projects and presented by Guillermo del Toro. These events have led to numerous success stories, among which stands out Endless, the debut film by the Alenda brothers starring María León and Javier Rey, which will be released this year by Filmax.
