Designed for pay television operators and content owners, Nagra offers secure end-to-end OTT solutions based on Android TV at NAB.

Nagra NAB 2018

Nagra is carrying out demonstrations of its solutions for the protection of content value and optimization of OTT services. At its booth (SU3424), the Kudelski subsidiary showcases Conax, OTT and Android TV content protection solutions, anti-piracy services, NexGuard watermarking and, in its US debut, media asset management by DVnor.

One of the new features at this fair is the turnkey Multi-DRM OTT Conax GO Live. It is a turnkey end-to-end OTT solution with a guaranteed deployment time of less than 30 days. Using the multi-DRM capability of the cloud-enabled Conax Contego content security platform and best-in-class partners, Conax GO Live offers live TV channels with start-up, catch-up and full EPG for Android and iOS devices. At NAB the latest implementation of Conax GO Live is being demonstrated in Montecable (Uruguay).

Pay TV operators leveraging Android TV must ensure an additional level of security so that premium content meets the security demands of content owners and protects their business model. Conax Lynx makes this possible by taking advantage of the openness and flexibility of the Android TV ecosystem. This effectively creates a secure media path (SMP) that thwarts “hack-in-the-box” attacks and meets MovieLabs' requirements for Enhanced Content Protection (ECP) of 4K/UHD content.

With proper security and operating within an end-to-end TV solutions framework, an Android TV-based solution can enable pay TV operators to deliver compelling TV experiences that engage consumers and drive monetization. The newly launched OnePlace Android Canal TV TV-based 4K experience will be showcased.

Anti-piracy and watermarking services

Service providers and content owners alike will learn how to create the ultimate closed-loop approach to fighting piracy by leveraging NAGRA anti-piracy services and watermarking for any OTT system and any workflow.

Visitors to the Nagra booth will learn how the NexGuard Pre-Shipping watermark can secure premium content and prevent leaks in post-production and video distribution workflows, and how the NexGuard Early Release watermark can protect premium VOD content from illicit distribution. Another demonstration will show how pay TV operators can protect their content investment by finding and stopping illegal distribution of channels, live events and movies, and fighting IPTV and Kodi add-on piracy.

Media Asset Management

In its US debut, Nagra introduces DVnor Organizer, a one-stop shop for all a pay-TV operator's content management needs, and DVnor dSpree for VOD catalog creation. Leveraging the “One Master” concept, Organizer is a fully automated end-to-end media asset management platform that delivers innovation and cost savings to pay TV operators struggling to deal with ever-expanding VOD/SVOD catalogs and numerous content sources and file formats. DVnor is a preferred partner of some of the world's leading video streaming services.

With DVnor dSpree, pay TV operators can set up a VOD or SVOD service in a matter of minutes. Delivered from DVnor's secure cloud, dSpree gives pay-TV operators the freedom to personalize their store and give customers instant access to content on PC/Mac, Android and iOS, or TV screens, via Chromecast or AppleTV. Leverage Nagra NexGuard and Conax multi-DRM watermarks to deliver premium content, including 4K and HDR, securely.
