Cellnex Telecom develops the technology based on the HbbTv standard of the new LovesTv platform

The new DTT audiovisual platform promoted by RTVE, Mediaset and Atresmedia will offer the viewer the possibility of watching the last week's content from their television.

Cellnex Telecom is the technological provider of LovesTv, the service platform that Radio Televisión Española is developing (RTVE) and the two large Spanish private broadcasting groups, Atresmedia y Mediaset Spain, and that will allow viewers to enjoy the advantages of linear DTT while being able to access content and new non-linear services.

The new platform will allow, taking advantage of the capacity of the Internet, to improve the viewer experience, allowing the display of the contents of the last week, start a program from the beginning when it has already started, or a improved programming guide.

This new service is based on Hybrid DTT technology and will be available to those viewers who have a compatible television connected to the Internet.

Cellnex has actively participated in the development of the HbbTV standard since its inception, as a prominent member of the European HbbTV Association, in which it is currently part of the Steering Board.

Hybrid broadcast broadband TV is the global initiative that works on the harmonization of Broadcast-broadband services for viewers through connected televisions, set-top boxes and multi-screen devices.

The HbbTV standard allows the reception of audiovisual content and services by combining conventional DTT and the services of broadcasters over the Internet.

La interactividad se convierte así en la pieza clave para el espectador, en una sociedad digital en la que también el consumo de contenidos audiovisuales es multipantalla y móvil, pero que convive con una alta penetración de la TDT convencional.

Cellnex Telecom, agente neutral

Cellnex Telecom ha trabajado conjuntamente con los radiodifusores y desarrolladores en la implementación de las soluciones necesarias para estos nuevos servicios audiovisuales y reúne una serie de condiciones que lo convierten en el partner adecuado por su capacidad tecnológica y amplio knowhow en servicios de plataforma OTT y HbbTV y por ser una Entidad Certificadora de TDT Híbrida que mantiene una estrecha relación con fabricantes de electrónica de consumo.

Además es un agente neutral, imprescindible en el tratamiento de datos de usuarios, mediciones y user tracker, y un referente internacional en foros que trabajan en el desarrollo del sector audiovisual HbbTV Association, DVB, EBU, BNE.
