Quicklink Studio enables remote audio commentary over IP in prestigious pan-European football championship
This Quicklink solution enables ultra-low latency audio commentary to be delivered simultaneously over the Internet from multiple remote locations.
The solution Quicklink Studio It has recently been used in a prestigious pan-European football tournament to provide ultra-low latency audio commentary simultaneously over the Internet from multiple remote locations.
This experience has been carried out Audioconsulting AG, an independent consultancy, serving major international football leagues and the leading Swiss IPTV provider, Teleclub/Swisscom TV.
Audioconsulting AG chose the Quicklink Studio solution after a period of robust testing and evaluation.
Its general director, Martin Reich, comments that "this is a true 'plug-and-play' solution. We received a feedback solution that perfectly suited our needs. The Quicklink remote feedback solution is stable, simple and reliable."
Teleclub uses the Quicklink system internationally for commentators when they travel abroad and also to Switzerland. The remote commentator opens a simple Chrome browser to stream high-quality audio commentary while watching live video sent from the control room.
"The interaction between the studio and the stadium becomes more fluid and vivid thanks to the visual link between the studio and the commentator. The advantage is that we can return the live video without having to burden the commentator more. However, in addition, with this solution we are able to achieve the same audio quality as with the use of ISDN or any Voice over IP system," adds Reich.
He also highlights that "the configuration is being handled by our commentators as they did in the past with ISDN codecs. Therefore, we needed the units to be as simple as the old ISDN. We have 6 portable units connected to 6 Quicklink Studio channels."
Audioconsulting AG plans to use the Quicklink Studio solution for other international events where IP audio commentary is required.
