Mediaset requests its departure from the Union of Open Commercial Televisions (UTECA), of which it is a founding member along with Atresmedia, due to disagreements with smaller operators.

This Thursday Mediaset Spain has decided to put an end to months of confrontation within the Union of Open Commercial Televisions (UTECA) requesting his departure from this association, of which he is a founding member along with Atresmedia.

Mediaset has communicated its decision to the rest of the associated television stations through a letter addressed to the president of UTECA, Eduardo Olano.

"In recent months, our deep differences with some associates have become evident, whose entry into the Association seems to have been motivated, not so much by a desire to energize it, but rather by a desire to destabilize it. Proof of this is that the latest UTECA meetings have been more focused on internal confrontations than on the defense of common interests," the letter states.

In recent months, both Atresmedia and Mediaset maintained a confrontation with DKiss.
