The Liga de Fútbol Profesional Española ha puesto en marcha LaLigaSportsTV, el servicio OTT (over-the-top) que ofrecerá competiciones deportivas españolas en directo, gratis y a través de múltiples dispositivos, with the aim of offering greater visibility and exposure to Spanish sport.

A través de esta plataforma LaLiga quiere apoyar al desarrollo del producto audiovisual de otros deportes, que no tienen espacio en los canales tradicionales, y cuya distribución de contenido es muy limitada para los aficionados de estas modalidades.

Sports fans have been at the center of the development of LaLigaSportsTV. To achieve this, a simple and accessible interface has been implemented, with native applications, in the cloud and HD content, and where the user can personalize their content, on multiple devices, both live and on demand.

In addition, LaLiga wants to support the federations so that they can better understand the consumption habits of the users of these sports, and in this way, be able to propose better marketing strategies for their audiovisual content and sponsorships.

Furthermore, this project demonstrates the bet on innovation of LaLiga, which works every day and allocates a multitude of resources to be at the forefront of new technologies, especially in the audiovisual aspect.

In this way LaLiga positions itself as the first major European league to develop an OTT service own, offering its fans a platform for niche sports, something unique in the world, which demonstrates the leadership of LaLiga clubs.

LaLigaSportsTV will have an advertising campaign whose claim is when they look at you, you give it your all, in which LaLiga wants to show that the encouragement of the fans has a direct impact on the athlete's performance. For this reason, a project like LaLigaSportsTV expands their exposure windows, helping them grow and motivating them to compete.

Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish Sports Association (ADESP), highlights that "the objective is to give more and better visibility to non-mainstream sports, through a platform with quick and easy access to content, so that fans can enjoy their favorite sport whenever they want, wherever they want and however they want."

LaLigaSportsTV will be available for both iOS and Android (mobile phones or tablets), Samsung Smart TV, Mirroring (Chromecast, Apple TV, Samsung) and soon, on other Web-based devices.

All contents of LaLigaSportsTV can be enjoyed for free, except for LaLiga 1|2|3, which works under subscription for a price of 14.99 euros per year or 2.99 euros per month.

Usability

The home page is the main search tool. Through the home page it is possible to access 100% of the product contents. The home is divided into three main blocks (shown in rows of content): live, recommendations, channels by sport and special sections.

The live shows will be the main content of the OTT. It occupies the first position on the cover and the different live shows are arranged in order of proximity in time.

LaLigaSportsTV will propose to the user video content based on your preferences. Currently the recommendation is based on the selection of favorite sports and teams selected by the user.

The B.usiness Intelligence y Business Analytics It is a key piece in this project given the enormous amount of content, types of users and their tastes. Helping our users find and consume content quickly, easily and accurately at all times will be key to the experience offered by LaLigaSportsTV.

As far as channels by sport are concerned, they will be displayed in a cascading manner, through an infinite scroll. As users scroll down with the cursor on the remote control, rows dedicated exclusively to each sport appear. Once again, the order of sports will be based (future) on the preferences of each user.

In the special sections and from the platform control tool, LaLigaSportsTV managers will be able to create and delete new specific sections. For example: you can create a section with the most viewed videos of the week, or a specific section for a specific featured tournament.
