ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery choose 3SS to launch their new streaming platform Joyn
Joyn selects 3SS to co-develop the unified applications of its platform, allowing access to live streams from more than fifty television channels.
3 Screen Solutions (3SS), a provider of software solutions for set-top boxes (STB) and multi-screen digital entertainment, has been chosen to provide the development, engineering and integration of Joy's, the new entertainment streaming service co-owned by ProSiebenSat.1 y Discovery.
Joyn (formerly 7TV) offers the widest range of free-to-air television content in Germany, including Live TV and catch-up, with live broadcasts of more than fifty channels television. Original series, shows, exclusive previews and other engaging content come with an extensive on-demand library for Joyn subscribers to watch on smartphones, tablets, the Internet and smart TVs.
With Joyn, viewers can access a wide variety of content seven days before television broadcast live and 30 days later to catch up: a consumer-focused innovation that Joyn is introducing for the first time on the German market.
3SS custom developed the Joyn web interface based on the framework 3READY Front End UI. 3SS also supported Joyn's engineering team in the development phase of applications for iOS, Android mobile, Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV and other smart TV devices.
The UI designed by Joyn features a new color palette and UI/UX that allows users to enjoy Joyn's offerings as a personalized and highly intuitive viewing experience.
The 3SS 3READY Web framework has a responsive user interface which allows Joyn to implement its Web UI designs on the 3READY platform.
Kai-Christian Borchers, CEO of 3SS, comments that “today's consumers need their television services to be easy to use, with all viewing options presented in a unified and attractive way, and making that content easily discoverable and accessible.”
“We are proud to have been selected to help Joyn audiences watch the service's huge variety of programming wherever they choose, on any device,” he concludes.
