AJA unveils new 12G-SDI, HDR, OpenGear and IP solutions at IBC

At this IBC, the Californian company presents the HDR Image Analyzer 12G, the Kumo 6464-12G for routing, as well as the new Corvid 44 12G I/O models for developers, among other new features.

AJA Video Systems presented today in IBC 2019 led by its president and CEO, Nick Rashby, new products and updates designed to advance broadcast, production, post-production and proAV workflows.

In response to increasing bandwidth requirements for creating and delivering high-quality content, AJA is introducing the HDR Image Analyzer 12G, Kumo 6464-12G for routing, as well as new Corvid 44 12G developer I/O models at IBC this year.

It also debuts the FS-Mini frame-sync mini-converter and three new OpenGear-compatible cards, including OG-FS-Mini, OG-ROI-DVI and OG-ROI-HDMI. Additionally, the company is previewing desktop software updates for Kona, Io, and T-TAP, UltraHD support for Mini-Converter IPR receivers, and improvements to the FS4 frame synchronizer.

HDR Image Analyzer 12G

AJA has set the standard in HDR image processing since launching its analyzer. Now the new HDR Image Analyzer 12G aporta conectividad 12G-SDI to AJA's real-time HDR monitoring and analysis platform developed in partnership with Colorfront. The new device offers 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD, HDR and WCG waveform, histogram and vectorscope monitoring and analysis for production, post-production, quality control and mastering of broadcast and OTT content.

Kumo and Corvid

Con 64 12G-SDI inputs and 64 12G-SDI outputs, he Kumo 6464-12G it's a nuevo router SDI compacto that allows professionals to take advantage of the scalability, security and greater bandwidth that 12G-SDI provides. Kumo 6464-12G routers can be configured for dual and quad routing for workflows Dual Link, 4K, UltraHD y 8K for seamless routing of uncompressed, compressed or raw 4K signals throughout your facility.

As to Corvid, is now available in ten different models, each with passive or active cooling variants, the Corvid 44 12G is an 8-way PCIe 3.0 audio and video I/O platform that supports 12G-SDI I/O. Corvid 44 12G models include high-density HD-BNC or full-size BNC connectors, with HD-BNC models available in low-profile or full-height form factors.

All Corvid 44 12G cards support 8K/UltraHD2/4K/UltraHD high frame rate, deep color, HDR workflows and can also provide multiple 4K input or output streams. All Corvid 44 12G models are now available, including full-size BNC versions; HD-BNC versions with HD-BNC to BNC cables and HD-BNC versions without cables.

FS-Mini

FS-Mini is a broadcast-quality frame synchronization solution that brings together the proven functionality and reliability of AJA's FS frame synchronization technology in one portable mini-converter. FS-Mini supports Frame synchronization and cross-conversion of 3G-SDI, HD and SD video signals.

It allows users to sync and convert a wide range of video formats to their home standard with a 3G-SDI input and output, HDMI output and a two-channel RCA-style audio output Mini-Converter.

New OpenGear cards

The new OG-FS-Mini combines the functionality of the FS-Mini with the arquitectura OpenGear. The new OG-ROI-DVI and OG-ROI-HDMI cards support DVI or HDMI to SDI upscaling in the region of interest, scan conversion and image rotation in the openGear format. Each board is designed for use in openGear 2RU frames, including AJA's OG-X-FR 2RU frame, and can be configured, monitored and controlled remotely using Ross DashBoard software. OG-FS-Mini is available now for $695 US MSRP. OG-ROI-DVI and OG-ROI-HDMI will be available in Fall 2019 for US$995 MSRP each.

Finally, it should be noted that AJA now offers a Free software update for Kona, Io and T-TAP products. Desktop Software v15.5 gives video professionals greater creative freedom and flexibility in Windows, Linux, and macOS workflows with enhancements such as full 2SI SMPTE raster support for 8K, RGB support for 8K capture and playback, and new HDR test patterns in the AJA Control Room, among other improvements.

On the other hand, UltraHD support up to 50p is coming to receivers AJA HDMI – IP mini-converters with IPR v2 firmware.2, which will help production facilities take advantage of 10GigE infrastructures. The update also offers reference input support for IPR-10G2-HDMI/SDI models.

Additionally, the latest free firmware update for the FS4 frame synchronizer For quad-channel 2K/HD/SD or single-channel 4K/UltraHD and for upstream, downstream and cross frame synchronizer, FS4 v2.0 introduces new feature enhancements that improve conversion quality and user experience.
