Kingdoms of Fire

Local and third-party publishers gained the ability to expand delivery of materials in the new format by working in a more efficient environment. They can now, for example, easily select and work on scenes captured by multiple cameras, approving images simultaneously via a web browser. With faster response times, review processes have been simplified and Genomedia can focus more on the creative process.

Kingdoms of Fire

From 6 to 8 Teras per chapter

The solution is robust to handle the large amount of data involved. One of the first works post-produced with the new workflow is the series Kingdoms of Fire, which tells the story of a 16th century conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Egyptian Empire, generates a minimum of 6-8 Terabytes of raw images each day. The Avid stream used ensures that this material can be stored, researched and shared between editors without reducing system performance.

Khaled Ben Younes, head of post-production at Genomedia, comments: "Our previous workflow was overloaded, with decentralized production islands and content split across multiple storage sites. For a project of this magnitude, we needed a scalable, cost-effective and easy-to-integrate platform that would allow our teams to find files quickly, collaborate seamlessly and create the best possible story under intense time pressure. The usability and performance of Avid's workflow exceeded all our expectations. This type of post-production environment is unique in the East. Medium, but we are very excited about the opportunities that will open up in the future.”
