Platinum Awards 2019

The Entity for the Management of Rights of Audiovisual Producers (EGEDA) and the Ibero-American Federation of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Producers (FIPCA) has chosen to postpone, without a new date, the 7th edition of the Platino Xcaret Awards for Ibero-American Cinema.

The online voting process based on the nominations will continue, and the date to announce the winners to the press will be determined in due course, at the time when the WHO declares the complete normalization of the health situation.

The Awards organization has made this decision given the responsibility that comes with bringing together professionals from more than 23 countries. Grupo Xcaret, as co-organizer, and the different sponsors of the event, as well as the Government of Quintana Roo (Mexico), have expressed their understanding and support for EGEDA and FIPCA, understanding the situation that is being experienced worldwide.

On the other hand, the organizers announced that the celebration of the I Platinum Industry Edition, the first market that unites audiovisual, tourism and education in Latin America, conceived as a new space of opportunity for investment in audiovisual projects, in which large international and national companies had already confirmed their presence, and which was going to take place from May 1 to 3 at the Barceló Maya Convention Center in Riviera Maya, is postponed to 2021.
