Sapec supplies Nevion equipment for DVB-T2 transmissions in Castilla-La Mancha
The manufacturer collaborates with the Telecom CLM company in other aspects, in addition to supplying equipment to adapt the broadcast to DVB-T2.
Telecom CLM started, a few months ago, the first 4K broadcasts in Castilla-La Mancha, where Sapec collaborated with the encoding in HEVC of the content provided by different entities and producers in UHD (4K).
In addition to the collaboration between Sapec and Telecom CLM, given the good relationship between both companies, Sapec has supplied the company's equipment Nevion for the generation of the emission under the DVB-T2 standard.
Telecom CLM opted for the new standard DVB- T2 for UHD transmissions over DTT, with the idea of promoting innovation and getting ahead of new technologies as provided in the new National Technical Plan for DTT (RD391/19). In addition, improvements with respect to DVB-T are taken advantage of in such important issues as the emission of compressed channels in HEVC and the increase in the bandwidth of each multiplex due to the greater spectral efficiency of this technology.
In the headend, Telecom CLM uses the Gateway DVB-T2 modelo CP560 from Nevion, capable of generating a T2-MI frame and up to 8 PLPs (Physical Layer Pipes), although currently a single PLP is used for this 256QAM modulated service.
Nevion, represented in Spain and Mexico by Sapec, has a wide range of DVB-T2 products that include T2-MI frame generation, PLPs, deterministic remultiplexing, regionalization, DVB-SIS (Single Illumination), SFN seamless switching and monitoring.
