Vera, among other awards, received two Goyas, for best costume design ('El amor brujo) and artistic direction (The girl of your eyes).

The set designer and theater and film director Gerardo Vera, who was responsible for National Dramatic Center (CDN) between 2004 and 2011, died this Sunday at the age of 73.

In addition to numerous theatrical productions, in cinema he directed the films The other story of Rosendo Juárez (1990), A woman in the rain (1992), The Celestina (1996), Second skin (2000) y Desire (2003).

In 1992 he directed the show Azabache at Expo 92 in Seville in which great figures of the copla participated such as Juanita Reina, Imperio Argentina, Rocío Jurado, Nati Mistral and María Vidal.

Among his awards are Goya Award for best costume design for witchy love in 1986 and the Goya Award for best artistic direction for The apple of your eye. In 1988 he was awarded the National Theater Award.
