The platform Filmmarket Hub has opened the call for projects for Madrid Online Pitchbox, its virtual pitching event focused on Spanish feature films and series in the development phase. A matchmaking initiative to discover the best fiction projects on the market and connect them with the main companies in the Spanish industry.
Projects interested in participating may register until November 12 through the online marketplace Filmarket Hub. In total seven feature films and seven series will be selected. Those responsible for the selected projects will have the opportunity to make a sales pitch and later have reuniones one to one with participating companies. The event will take place on December 17 and 18, the first day dedicated to feature films and the second to series.
The series day will once again feature the participation of Alejandro Rojas, director of applied analytics at Parrot Analytics, the prestigious company specialized in measuring audience demand for content internationally. Alejandro will open the day with a talk titled Valuing investment opportunities in Spanish content. Additionally, Parrot Analytics will evaluate the potential market demand for the seven selected series, whose managers will be able to present the results at the event.
The event will also once again have the support of the Carlos III University of Madrid. Thanks to this alliance, the projects of the two best students of their Master's Degree in Film and TV Screenwriting with ALMA Screenwriters will be highlighted with a special mention, so that executives can discover them through the Filmarket Hub online market.
Madrid Online Pitchbox will be the fourth Pitchbox event that Filmarket Hub adapts to this new virtual format in 2020. To date, UK Online Pitchbox and Latam Online Pitchbox have been successfully held, focused on British and Latin American projects respectively, which have had the participation of companies such as Amazon Prime Video, BBC, Buena Vista (Disney), eOne, Film4, NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures or Turner. On the other hand, these days Sitges Pitchbox takes place, in collaboration with the Sitges Festival and focused on international genre projects. More information and registration, here.
