Sky and Amazon join forces in Europe to bring together their best entertainment

The Amazon Prime Video app will launch on Sky Q, Sky Ticket and Now TV devices from December 14.

Sky y Amazon have signed a long-term agreement that will launch Prime Video on Sky and Now TV devices across Europe from December 14, while the Now TV and Sky Ticket apps will also arrive on Fire TV devices.

Thanks to this partnership, customers in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy will now be able to watch all Sky and Prime Video TV series, movies and sports in one place in time for Christmas.

For the first time, Sky UK customers will be able to watch every Premier League match live on Sky Sports, Prime Video and BT Sport without having to change devices.

Amazon Prime Video TV shows, movies and more will be found alongside Sky Originals and Netflix, as well as apps like Disney+, BBC iPlayer, FiiT…. This will make it even easier to access everything the user likes, in one place.”

For its part, Jay Marine, vice president of Prime Video Worldwide, highlights that “with the arrival of winter and our new obsession with binge-watching, The Wilds, about to launch, it's the perfect time for Sky customers to catch up on our award-winning Prime Video TV shows, movies and live sport, including Prime Video's exclusive live broadcasts of 20 English Premier League matches this December. Plus, with the launch of Now TV on Fire TV, customers in the UK have never had it better when it comes to choosing what to watch the way they're watching it.”

In the UK, Italy and Ireland, the Prime Video app will launch on Now TV devices, as well as Sky Ticket devices in Germany, on December 14. The Now TV app will roll out on select Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition smart TVs for customers in Italy, Ireland, Austria and Switzerland through early 2021, and Sky Ticket will also roll out on Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition smart TVs in Germany through early 2021.

Finally, Sky Q customers will be able to access Prime Video by simply saying “Launch Prime Video” into their voice remote to pair their Sky Q box with their existing Prime membership or standalone Prime Video subscription.
