Gorilla Group upgrades with the Sony BVM-HX310 4K HDR Master monitor

Big Pic Media has also supplied Portrait Displays' Calman color calibration package which allows Gorilla to check detailed performance parameters of its monitors.

The film and video producer Gorilla Group, based in Cardiff, has invested in a monitor LCD Trimaster BVM-HX310 latest generation of Sony. This monitor, supplied by Big Pic Media, is now used as a master reference for color grading at the group's Cardiff Bay headquarters.

The new Gorilla headquarters is equipped with 80 rooms Avid, grading rooms Baselight, dubbing Pro Tools and a great visual effects department.

Rhodri James, director of technology and operations at Gorilla Group, highlights that "4K HDR has become the default standard for all high-value digital film and television productions. 4K HDR is capable of capturing content with extremely realistic quality, but requires very careful supervision throughout the post-production process to ensure that its full potential is conveyed to the audience."

Also supplied by Big Pic Media, the Calman color calibration of Portrait Displays It allows Gorilla to check the detailed performance parameters of its monitors and ensure consistent image quality in its grading, mastering and editing rooms.

The supplied system includes Calman Ultimate software, a C6 HDR2000 colorimeter and a VideoForge PRO pattern generator. All of this provides the tools necessary to enable accurate calibration of monitors at the touch of a button.

The software provides a screen calibration report to ensure compliance with streaming television services such as Netflix, HBO, Sky or BBC Worldwide.
