Mediapro 4K mobile units - Museo del Prado

The orchestra concert directed by Gustavo Dudamel and held at the Prado Museum was recorded and performed in 4K by professionals from Mediapro.

50 professionals from various Mediapro companies worked in the museum rooms for three days to give shape to this production. Specifically, four companies were involved: Eumobile, which provided a 4K mobile unit; Videoreport, sound manager; Adisar, for lighting reinforcement; and Mediapro Valencia, which provided a series of special capture technologies to reinforce the distinctive production.

The Mediapro Group itself has described this project as “a challenge”, given that for three days, in just four hours, the room had to be lit, cameras set up, 40 musicians microphoned, rehearsed, recorded and dismantled. In this way, the museum could open its doors the next day as usual.

Concert in front of Las Meninas

The recording took place last Monday the 21st on the occasion of Music Day in the room chaired by Las Meninas by Diego Velazquez. The young woman Encounter Orchestra, directed by Gustavo Dudamel, performed Transfigured Night of Arnold Schoenberg, a work based on the poem of the same name by Richard Dehmel that deals with the triumph of hope over darkness.

The event was attended by personalities such as Carmen Calvo, first vice president of the Spanish Government; Frank Gehry, architect of, among other buildings, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao; or the actress Maria Valverde, among others. The concert was preceded by a debate in which the transformative potential of the arts and the value of culture in the fight against poverty and inequalities was reflected.
