BNJ expands its multimedia radio operations with Dalet
Dalet Galaxy Five unifies several radio stations in BNJ (France) with digital workflows based on artificial intelligence while visual radio opens new business opportunities.
BNJ, which operates four radio stations and associated websites in the Jura Arc region, has chosen Dalet's solution with AI-powered search and automated documentation provided by the platform SaaS Dalet Media Cortex, as part of its multi-year vision of comprehensive diversification of its radio business.
Pierre Steulet, CEO of BNJ, comments that "BNJ is a leader in local news and program production closely connected to the Swiss communities it serves. An important part of our growth strategy is to make the most of the potential of multimedia radio and new digital and social platforms."
"The update to Dalet Galaxy five and the artificial intelligence capabilities of Dalet Media Cortex will improve our ability to monetize assets through video sharing on social media channels, providing audiences with increasingly personalized and curated news and programming content on the platform of their choice. With automated content production, tracking and management, our journalists, DJs and associates can focus on engaging with their audiences in an innovative way," he adds.
A Dalet customer since 1999, BNJ will use Dalet Galaxy Five to connect its four radio locations (GRRIF, RJB, RTN and RFJ), creating a centralized topology enabling digital workflows, file enrichment and content recommendations. New editorial, video and advertising production capabilities will allow BNJ to serve hyper-focused and better-curated news, talk shows, podcasts and music programming simultaneously across traditional, digital and social channels, and generate new advertising revenue through “shareable” visual radio.
Johann Zemmour, General Manager, EMEA and APAC at Dalet, recognizes that "watching radio is a big trend. The audience wants to see and share popular or controversial clips. Advertisers want their ads at the beginning of each piece of content to ensure audience reach. Dalet's visual radio capabilities bring audiences closer to DJs, journalists and the stations themselves. This amplifies the brand and increases listener loyalty to the station. For local radio where stations serve specific communities, local relevance is reinforced and regional, a key objective of the BNJ group.”
Remote production
Mobile editing tools Dalet On-the-Go and post-production Dalet OneCut, give journalists the strength and flexibility to edit long-form, short-form programming and news content for all platforms, from anywhere.
Cedric Richard, CIO of BNJ, explains the benefits that new AI capabilities will bring to the editorial workflow. “Dalet Media Cortex will automate the indexing and documentation of all new and archived content. The discovery of relevant content and appropriate recommendations will help journalists quickly develop new narratives for their news, offering audiences a greater variety of local content and programming, as well as more opportunities to interact with journalists on a story of interest.”
On the other hand, with the integration of the Dalet API with advertising systems BCE StudioTalk y Winpub From Solution Informatique, music, news and promotional content, with associated video, is available instantly for program curation or live with granular selection. Users will be able to adjust advertising displays and insert new ads as relevant events occur.
BNJ will also use Dalet's API to integrate a wide range of systems and services, including MusicMaster for music programming and Lawo for streaming. The unified workflow will streamline processes, offering a more seamless experience for DJs, journalists, promoters and audiences alike.
