Crown Media begins streaming multiple Hallmark channels from the cloud with Globecast

The playout of Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries y Hallmark Drama pasa a ser gestionado en la nube gracias a la última alianza entre Crown Media y Globecast.

Globecast, a company that has signed a five-year contract with Crown Media, will be in charge of managing the broadcast of the channels, both linear as OTT; the terrestrial distribution and for satellite to the MVPD and VMVPD; and the transmission of the offer of TV Everywhere from Hallmark to the mobile devices. This agreement will be made, however, under a innovative approach, since all broadcast services will be carried out from a virtual cloud platform. This new solution supports various linear television services, including both HD as SD for all Crown Media channels, as well as OTT variations of the linear product.

Crown Media (which has been collaborating with Globecast since 2017) will have a cloud content library, which will feed Globecast's media supply chain. Globecast's media management and automation solution integrates broadcast-ready files into the playlist. The integrated channels are then distributed via satellite and terrestrial from Globecast's facilities in Culver City.

Hallmark Channels operate with a high degree of operational complexity, with considerable on-screen graphics requirements, along with regular staffing and branding changes that occur throughout the year to highlight various holidays and other events.
