Mobile voice lines with broadband closed the month of November 2021 with a total of 48.5 million lines, 2.9% more than in the same month of 2020. This means that 87% of mobile lines already had Internet access on that date.

According to the latest data published in CNMCData by the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC), in total, mobile telephone lines added 74,874 new lines in November, reaching 55.72 million (1.6% more than a year ago).

The three main operators represented 74% of the total mobile lines in the market.

Mobile portability exceeded 600 thousand operator changes. Grupo Masmóvil and the MVNOs recorded positive net portability balances, while Vodafone, Orange and Movistar presented negative balances.

Fixed broadband

November added 35,985 new fixed broadband lines for a total of 16.13 million. The total number of fiber optic lines to the home (FTTH) reached 12.6 million, with a monthly growth of 101,014 lines. 38.1% of the total FTTH lines correspond to Movistar, with a fleet of 4.8 million lines.

At an annual level, compared to November 2020, the increase of 1.2 million FTTH lines stands out compared to the loss of 0.6 million lines with DSL technology.

79.1% of the total lines are concentrated in the three main operators, Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including Ono).

In November, just over 31,000 landlines were lost. The month closed with a total of 18.57 million lines. 177 thousand fixed numbers were ported.

The NEBA indirect access service (FTTH and copper) gained 2,416 lines in November and accumulates 994,066 lines, of which 948,577 are fiber. The month of November ended with 2,012,692 local NEBA lines.
