Endorsing the position of the European Broadcasting Union (UER/EBU), a study published by the European Commission is committed to maintaining the use of the UHD band as it currently is.

The study makes it clear that both the digital terrestrial television (DTT) such as wireless audio equipment for program production and special events (PMSE) will continue to require the sub-700 MHz spectrum currently used.

Made by LStelcom y VVA, the study reveals a wide range of opinions across EU Member States, with different trends and contexts in each country. For this very reason, however, there is little room for consensus on any major change to the current approach. Indeed, most Member States indicated that they do not have sufficient information to give an opinion on the likelihood that more sub-1 GHz spectrum will be needed for mobile services.
