Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya: 'Best Practice' by the European Commission
In the European Year of Creativity and Innovation, a commission of experts selects this production complex located in Terrassa as an exemplary case of good practices.
On July 8 and 9, the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya (PAC) will be a special guest to explain its activity model at the conference organized by the Directorate General of Education and Culture of the European Commission in Brussels. In this conference that will be titled “The Regional Dimension of Creativity and Innovation – EYCI Second Flagship Conference” representatives from all the countries of the European Union will meet to learn, among others, the Parc Audiovisual project as an example of good practice with criteria of optimization of work, well-being and constant improvement. Already last year, the PAC obtained, within the framework of the European Union Media Program, recognition for excellence in the management of its programs to promote audiovisuals, talent and creativity.
The communication and audiovisual sector in Catalonia represents 5% of the GDP, presenting a high strategic value since it promotes local culture in a global market with an intense presence of ICT. The Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya represents an audiovisual promotion model based on the offer of opportunities to bring the audiovisual sector closer at a local and regional level. Specifically, the activities it carries out are the organization of professional conferences in the sector, advice on the creation of new projects that promote innovation and talent, the dissemination of activities through digital platforms (fairs, Seconf Life...). The Parc has the support of various local institutions, the Institut Català de les Indústries Culturals (Generalitat de Catalunya), as well as the collaboration of the twenty companies housed in its premises (VSN, Infinia, Infigo...) and numerous professionals in the sector.
