1. FSV Mainz 05, one of the teams in the top flight of the German football league, the Bundesliga, is using the Bolero S wireless intercom system from Riedel for communications between coaches.

With six Bolero S beltpacks distributed among the analysts, the assistant coach, the sports coach and the team physiotherapists, Mainz 05 now enjoys much simpler workflows on match day, allowing for improved strategic and tactical preparation, sports training and warm-up, and injury diagnosis.

"As an analyst, you not only get a bird's eye view of the area, but also special previews from scanning cameras that allow you to see everything in replay. All this data would be wasted if we couldn't communicate with the rest of the team to advise the coaches on strategy or to clarify something to the athletic trainer," he says. Tijan Nige, Mainz 05 video analysis specialist.

"Fortunately, Riedel has provided us with more communication possibilities than we thought, whether during the technical preparation, throughout the match or in our post-match analysis. We are very grateful for his help in ensuring that our team performs at its best in all aspects, both on and off the field," he adds.

Before Bolero S, the Mainz 05 used a third-party system that often faced connection and handling problems. These technical problems were accentuated in stadiums, where communication between analysts in the stands and coaches on the benches covered extremely long distances.

However, since using Bolero S, the team has not had any problems with ease of use and connectivity. In fact, Bolero S's crystal-clear communication capabilities allow analysts to quickly inform coaches about where players are throughout the match, including where they are struggling and how they can adapt to their opponents' strengths, giving them an advantage over their competitors.

Riedel Bolero S also allows the Mainz 05 physiotherapists to communicate with each other in a channel independent of that of the analysts, coaches and the physical trainer. This allows the physiotherapists inside the players' box to be directly informed of everything that is happening on the field, such as if there is an injury on the field of play, so that they can respond immediately and with the appropriate equipment.

Additionally, the coach can communicate to the athletic trainer that a certain player will be needed in the game in the next few minutes, which gives the trainer more than enough time to warm up the player before he goes out.

“Everything that happens off the field can be as critical as everything that happens on the field, where coaches, analysts, physical trainers and physiotherapists are constantly observing and preparing,” he says. Torben Hermann, sales director at Riedel. "With its powerful wireless connection, ease of use and crystal-clear audio quality, Bolero S allows every member of any team to stay on top of everything and respond accordingly. We are honored to work with one of the world's largest manufacturers."
