The new board of directors of COITT/AEGITT takes office

The Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering of the University of Malaga (ONE) has welcomed the inauguration of the new board of directors of COITT y AEGITT, proclaimed in the elections last May.

The team led by Luis Miguel Chapinal, new dean of COITT, y Antonio Rhodes, elected president of the AEGITT, took over from Mario Cortés and José Antonio López Olmedo, at the head of this professional group, after the results of the elections held on May 31. After promising the position, the different members of the governing and board of directors of both entities, the new dean and president of COITT/AEGITT, communicated their commitment to “bring the importance of the profession and its recognition to all areas of society.” Likewise, they highlighted as a priority “leading for all, and continuing to work together with a multidisciplinary team to advance in the defense and positioning of this professional group.”

Among the challenges to be faced, the new leaders of COITT/AEGITT highlighted the promotion of technological vocations and telecommunications studies, and the boosting female talent in this sector, working from a board of directors with a greater presence of women engineers and from their Network Engineers work group. In addition, in their speech they recognized the outgoing Board of Governors and Board of Directors for their work at a time of digital transformation of society.

The investiture ceremony was held within the framework of CODIGAT 2023, the annual Conference of Directors of the Degree in the Field of Telecommunications.
