Brompton 4K Tessera SX40 processors power the Blue Box xR studio
Big Blue Technology has inaugurated its second Blue Box virtual production studio, whose LED processing is managed by the processors Brompton 4K Tessera SX40.
Located in the Chaoyang district, the largest and most populous urban area in Beijing, the studio Blue Box xR It occupies 1,400 m2 and is equipped with dressing rooms, a lounge and other essential facilities, including on-site accommodation for production teams. The set features a range of high-end equipment, such as LED processors Brompton 4K Tessera SX40, LED screens ROE Visual, media servers disguise, cinematographic lighting equipment ARRI, motion capture systems Row and camera tracking systems Mon-Sys. For the chief technology officer of Big Blue Technology, Vno Hu, this selection of solutions makes the studio one of the “most cutting edge” with high-end configurations for xR and VP in China.
“Depending on production requirements, we can perfectly configure the LED panels to create a screen of approximately 400 m2 for virtual production,” Hu continues. “We used ROE Black Pearl BP2V2 for the main screen and ROE BM4 for the floor, all powered by five Tessera SX40 4K LED processors and 18 Tessera XD 10G data distribution units in each studio, with more spare SX40 units available for larger projects.”
He Brompton LED processing plays a vital role in setting up the studies. According to Hu, the Blue Box team “trusts” all of Tessera's functions, among which stands out PureTone, which “eliminates unpleasant color casts in the gray scale” or Dynamic Calibration, which “allows us to achieve uniform and attractive video content even in extreme conditions of brightness and color range.”
In the last year, the studio has worked with world-renowned brands such as Audi, BMW, Lenovo, China's Ping An, Samsung, Tencent and Volkswagen, among others. The team has also successfully completed 15 television commercials and creative broadcast shoots, in addition to organizing hundreds of events such as the Lenovo Innovation and Technology Conference, all of which demonstrates the creative capacity of the studio.
