RTVE films 'Internal Affairs', its return to police series

'Internal Affairs', a police drama in the key of thriller produced by RTVE and Mediacrest, has begun filming.

Directed by María Togores and Samantha López Speranza, and created by Pedro García Ríos and Rodrigo Martín Antoranz, Internal Affairs is presented as a thriller full of “intrigue, tension, action, courage and drama” that during six chapters will take the viewer to the life of a police station in a working-class neighborhood at a time of fundamental transformation of Spanish society, late 70s, early 80s.

To RTVE, Internal affairs part of the police theme to later focus on what “each of the characters has inside” and what they have to “face in their lives.” They are part of the cast featured performers such as Laia Manzanares, Silvia Abascal, Nacho Fresneda, Luis Callejo, Carla Campra, Marta Poveda, Miki Esparbé, Jorge de Juan, Nico Romero, Josema Pichardo and Josean Bengoetxea, among others.

This is the synopsis of Internal Affairs of RTVE, whose filming has already started: "In 1979, Clara Montesinos (Laia Manzanares), a member of the first class of female police officers, arrives at a police station where the emergence of heroin conditions the lives of our protagonists and the entire neighborhood. There, the new inspector will learn that being an agent is much harder than she thought, and even more so in that destiny."

"She will fight to clean up the neighborhood... and something more. In that fight she will find unexpected allies pushed to take the bull by the horns to get ahead: Ana (Silvia Abascal), a wealthy mother whose daughter falls into the clutches of drugs, and Berta (Marta Poveda), the woman who serves in her house, who has to take the step of taking the reins of her life and that of her family to get out of the situation in which she lives. All three, pushed by the courage of "Those who know they are alone will face a reality that surpasses them. In this race against criminals they will find enemies they did not count on, surprising friends, double-deals, and they will have to make decisions that will blow up their principles and put their lives at risk," the description of the series continues.
