EITB invites Basque society to GAITU Eguna, an initiative to ensure that AI is expressed in Basque

The public radio and television entity of the Basque Country, EITB, has joined the project LET US, an initiative that seeks to consolidate Basque in the digital environment and in the field of AI (Artificial Intelligence).

So that the artificial intelligence express themselves in Basque, they need thousands of voices and thousands of hours of recording in Basque. In order to obtain all these sources that feed artificial intelligence, EITB has proposed to “encourage Basque society” to participate in the GET US Day (Gaitu Day) on November 22.

The objective of EITB is twofold: on the one hand, the purpose is record and validate as many phrases as possible a través de la participación de sus trabajadores. No obstante, todos aquellos interesados pueden participar por su cuenta en la iniciativa siguiendo las instrucciones de la web de GAITU. Ya se ha habilitado un espacio específico en cada una de las cuatro sedes de EITB para realizar las grabaciones y recopilar el mayor número posible de voces y frases.

EITB también ha confirmado que, a lo largo de la jornada, los canales de EITB y algunos de sus profesionales van a compartir a los telespectadores las claves de este pioneer project en el ámbito de la inteligencia artificial en una lengua tan única como el euskera.
