3Cat films 'Delta', a six-chapter fiction set in the Ebro delta
David Gonzàlez creates and directs 'Delta', a thriller driven by 3Cat, Veranda y Suica Films, with the participation of At Punt, which, over six chapters, will show the problems of the Ebro delta, a territory at risk of disappearing due to the climate crisis.
Delta, first series to be filmed in the Ebro delta, will tell the story of Júlia (Meritxell Calvo), an investigative journalist who arrives in the Delta when Bianca, an environmental activist, disappears. This is the starting point of a story defined by Calvo herself as a “thriller” with “a touch of drama and a pinch of comedy.” “It is very interesting that productions like this are made in our territory, since we have a wide range of spaces with many different possibilities,” explains the actress.
David González, director who has signed other notable series in Catalan territory such as Moèbius o Merlí Sapere Aude, is he director and creator of this fiction six chapters of 45 minutes. Following the path of other works such as The Minimum Island o Reeds and Mud, the Ebro delta is presented as another “character”: “The orography, the climate, the people, the jobs, the customs, the traditions... They will all be key elements to give verisimilitude and uniqueness to the work,” he explains. 3Cat.
The casting of Delta, whose script has been signed by David González y Laia Foguet, is composed of Meritxell Calvo (Júlia), Raquel Ferri (Meri), Pep Tosar (Ricardo), Lluís Marquès (Miki), Sergi Gobert (Lluïset), Cristina Fernández (María José), Martín Atance (Jaume), Carles Roig (Nil) and Carol Rovira (Tina), among others.
