Broadcast Solutions delivers a second full IP mobile unit to SuperSport

The integrator Broadcast Solutions has built a second fully IP mobile unit for the South African network in its workshops in Bingen am Rhein (Germany). SuperSport.

The new unit, IP2, is a slightly smaller sister to the giant IP1, delivered in mid-2023.

Govender breaks down, technical director of SuperSport's Outdoor Broadcasting Services, comments that "IP1 - we call it 'The Queen' - is designed for the high-level events in our sporting calendar. We quickly realized that we needed a slightly scaled-down version. IP2, 'The Princess', works the same, but is slightly smaller."

The IP1, also manufactured by Broadcast Solutions, was at the absolute size limit for South African roads, with a trailer of 16 meters long, 4.3 m high and 2.6 m wide when he moved. The IP2 It is 4.5 m shorter, so it can be used in places where the IP1 would not physically fit. For example, on the Sunshine Golf Tour its use is ideal since the larger unit would be too large to access the golf courses.

SuperSport is standardizing the system Hi Human Interface developed by Broadcast Solutions. This is an extremely powerful control layer, providing auto-discovery and easy configuration of the entire system, as well as a very intuitive user environment. It also allows seamless interconnection between IP1 and IP2, so that for mass productions the two could act as one.
