PRIMA enables Pebble customers to access the power of Nvidia Holoscan for Media

Pebble has undertaken a collaboration with Nvidia so that its customers can access the power of Nvidia Holoscan for Media, improving their multimedia functions. At NAB 2024, attendees can see for themselves the first results of this powerful collaboration at Pebble's booth in the West Hall.

PRIMA, the platform for real-time integrated multimedia applications, is a sophisticated software platform based on Linux/Kubernetes which supports a number of applications whether on-premises, in the cloud or through a hybrid combination.

With an architecture that emphasizes the flexible deployment, PRIMA is designed to meet the changing needs of media companies. NVIDIA Holoscan for Media is a IP-based, flexible, hybrid, platform-neutral architecture for the development and implementation of multimedia applications. The open source platform se basa en SMPTE ST 2110, AMWA NMOS, RIST, SRT y NDI.

PRIMA, which is part of NVIDIA's early access program for Holoscan for Media, will initially support a basic set of applications: playout, workflow and content visualization.

Daniel Robinson, Product Manager at Pebble, explains that "by supporting NVIDIA Holoscan for Media, Pebble can deploy PRIMA in dynamic media installations as anticipated and recommended by the EBU, allowing many multimedia applications to run on a shared computing platform rather than on dedicated hardware. A unified platform reduces administrative and management overhead while enabling reuse and maximizing usage across an entire network."
