Telemetrics RCCP-2A Panel Showcases Renewed Potential at NAB 2024
The RCCP-2A and reFrame camera control systems Telemetrics receive significant improvements within the framework of NAB 2024 that open the door to new, more versatile and complex workflows.
The control panel of robotic cameras RCCP-2A, which helps Telemetrics' OmniGlide robotic mobile platform work smarter (and camera cart and rail systems TG-4/TG-5 to move more fluidly, accurately and safely), has received a series of software improvements aimed at enabling the creation of new types of workflows. Specifically, the dual joystick control panel presents interesting new features within Studio View, a system that allows operators to see a 3D graphical reproduction of the studio environment directly on the panel, with the real-time location of camera pedestals and tracking systems. And new at NAB 2024, the TG-4/TG-5 rail system is now compatible with Telemetrics' exclusive collision detection/avoidance safety features.
Other system keys are Power View, which allows you to know the power status of multiple devices by combining the LP-S5 pan/tilt head with the PS-RM2-48 power supply; new options that allow you to see real time values to improve the use of the systems, and a new function in the LP-S5 pan/tilt head which enables AR/VR of curved tracks.
On the other hand, visitors to the Telemetrics stand have been able to discover new features for the tracking software reFrame Talent, which can be accessed both from the control panel and from the reFrame Server. New features include AI improvements to add more flexibility to the framing of the subject (asymmetrical return); incorporating additional movements using Telemetrics Televator; TG-4/TG-5 tracking and OmniGlide rover capabilities (X, Y, Z priority), and auto-retrigger framing when talent is slightly out of frame for extended periods.
Additionally, Telemetrics reFrame Server extends the flexibility of auto tracking functions from cameras from your artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted reFrame automatic shot correction software to more cameras in a production studio or event space, on-site or remotely. This allows multiple cameras on the same network to have talent and object tracking capabilities.
