Advanced HDR by Technicolor is integrated into Ateme's Titan
Titan's high-performance compression solution Atem is already compatible with Advanced HDR by Technicolor, a set of high dynamic range production, distribution and visualization solutions.
Advanced HDR by Technicolor, collaboration between Philips, InterDigital y Technicolor, lands on Titan of Ateme, a platform designed so that television networks, content owners and service providers distribute content quality video efficiently through various platforms and screens. The integration of Advanced HDR by Technicolor with Titan by Ateme will increase “the scalability and deployment capabilities” of television networks, since it allows them to take advantage of the capabilities of different providers to offer “first-class” HDR viewing experiences.
According to Valerie Allie, senior director of InterDigital's video solutions group, the integration of Advanced HDR by Technicolor into Titan will offer important advantages to Ateme users: "The integration of Advanced HDR by Technicolor directly into Titan streamlines the delivery of premium live HDR content in the Advanced HDR by Technicolor format, enabling greater deployments and greater capabilities for broadcasters, including rights owners. This simplifies workflows while opening up new options for networks and streaming providers to maximize and expand their HDR distribution capabilities."
HDR content delivered using the Advanced HDR by Technicolor solution can be delivered along with codecs AVC, HEVC and VVC and from “any source content SDR o HDR". The solution is built around two technologies: Intelligent Tone Management (ITM), which provides a dynamic real-time solution to convert SDR content to HDR with the freedom and flexibility to manage contrast, brightness and color saturation, and Single Layer HDR (SL-HDR), a solution that implements ETSI SL-HDR standards to generate and deliver a single, consistent, high-quality broadcast stream from any mix of input content (such as live, movies, news) across a wide range of HDR formats (HDR10, HLG, S-LOG3).
