RTVE: new directors for RNE, territorial and transformation

The renewal of RTVE continues with the appointments of Roberto Santamaría as director of RNE; Cristina Bravo, new director of RTVE Territorial, and Juan Pablo García Blanco, director of Organization and Transformation.

Roberto Santamaria (Miranda de Ebro, Burgos 1971), current director of RNE Programs, will be the new director of National Radio of Spain, a position that is recovered after three years in the RTVE organizational chart to provide the public radio station with its own direction that looks after its interests. Radio Nacional, Radio 3, Radio 5, Radio Exterior and Radio Clásica will depend on it.

Graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Basque Country-EHU, he has been part of the permanent staff of RTVE since joining by competitive examination in 2008. At RTVE, he has been head of the Ceuta Information Unit (2013-2015) and editor of RNE's territorial news programs in Castilla y León (2015-2018).

Cristina Bravo (Madrid, 1980), current director of News at RNE, will be the new director of Territorial RTVE. It is the first time that RTVE will have a autonomous structure for the management of its territorial centers. The new management will govern the process of reform and restructuring of the territorial centers, aimed at correctly reflecting the different territorial realities. Bravo will be part of the Corporation's Management Committee and in the coming days a new news directorate for RNE will be appointed.

Graduated in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid and linked to RTVE for nearly twenty years, for six years (2018-2024) she was the director of the RTVE Territorial Center in Castilla-La Mancha, the first woman to hold that position in the center's 30-year history. Under his direction, in RTVE Castilla-La Mancha RNE and TVE were integrated into the same building, reforming it and providing it with the latest technology, and it became a technological reference center, a pioneer in mobile journalism, 5G, metadata systems or cloud production, receiving different international recognitions.

Finally, Juan Pablo García Blanco (Madrid, 1967) will be the director of organization and transformation of RTVE, direction that will have the purpose of directing the process of reorganization of the Corporation's organizational chart and establishing the lines of its organizational transformation in line with the experiences in European public television stations. An RTVE employee since 1989, García Blanco has a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. With a technical profile in organizational development, process analysis and innovation in management, he has held different positions of responsibility in the public corporation, such as director of processes and innovation, deputy director of innovation and internal communication, or director of organization and talent management.

He has also served as a director in the commercial management of RTVE, in communication and institutional relations, in human resources and in international and corporate management. In the last stage prior to his appointment as director of organization and transformation, Juan Pablo García Blanco has represented the interests of RTVE before the community institutions in Brussels and is an active member of various specialized international groups.
